2014 Middle School Volleyball Championship

Congratulations on a great season to all the teams who competed for the SCIAA Championship. Memphis Metro was the host for the Small and Large division championships. Bellevue Middle coached by Chris Dease remained undefeated and defended their title as the Small Division champions. In the final, Bellevue faced off against Sherwood, also undefeated at the time. The Archers held on for three sets but eventually fell short in a close final set losing by just three points. In the Large division final, Kate Bond Middle coached by Debra Carpenter earned their first championship title after beating Colonial in three sets. Both runner-ups Sherwood and Colonial had a very successful season and played hard in the championship final pushing their opponents to a full three set match.

A special congratulations also goes out to game MVPs Melisa Carter of Kate Bond, Taiya Hill of Bellevue and all the players selected to the All Tournament Team.

2014 SCIAA Middle School Girls’ Soccer Championship

The fall season of SCIAA middle school sports are quickly coming to a close.  The SCIAA middle school girls soccer season closed Thursday with White Station Lady Spartans defeating Ridgeway Lady Roadrunners.  White Station scored an early goal but Ridgeway put up a great defensive effort only allowing them to score one more goal late in the first.  White Station led 2-0 going into the half.  White Station’s offense was just too much for the young Ridgeway team to hold off.  White Station added two more goals in the second half to take the win 4-0.
